Today, I managed to snag my major nail polish lemmings- China Glaze Classic Camel and China Glaze Ingrid! :) (I decided to grab Swing Baby as well. I love the Vintage Vixen collection!! Today in Vegas it feels disgusting. I know that I shouldn't complain, but after living in the desert for 2.5 years, 41% humidity is HELL. (on top of the 100°+ temperatures. It makes me think of the days in Michigan where you step out of the shower, and then feel like you have to shower all over again. Humidity is the devil, and the devil is in Las Vegas. I did another relatively simple design today, since a few people expressed that they dug the simpler stuff. I think it sort of has a vintage feel to it as well, so I think it fits with the color collection I used. :) BTW Class Camel was so totally worth the wait. I am in love with this polish, even though it looks horrid with my skin. :-P

Wow, really? Really? How did nobody's offensiveness radar go off when you named a nail polish after a race of people, colored it to approximate their skin tone, and then asked to possess them? Follow-up question: if you have a white nail polish, do you need to keep this one next to it at all times so that you don't wake up one day to find your white polish bottle lying mysteriously broken underneath a tiny little pillow? In this case, I think OPI named neither wisely nor too well.
Granted, it is conceivably possible that OPI was going with another definition of "moor" (although not likely, seeing as this comes from the "Espana" collection). If we are talking about land forms, though, a moor is about as unpleasant and useless as you can get. Does whoever named this really want a desolate, infertile, and somewhat soggy piece of English countryside? Nor does swapping from "Moor" to "moor" really improve the romantic connotations in either healthiness or happy endingness.
Let's just agree to cut our losses and stick with the verb, then, shall we? I'll moor you to whatever you want. Just promise to stay there.

I hate that I'm a sucker for advertising but when I saw this smartwater Ad Campaign with Jennifer Aniston it made me want to go for a run, do a yoga a class, pick up my skipping rope and buy a bottle of smartwater!
Today's nail design was quick, I'll admit it, I'm in a rush today- lots to do- Colin Hay concert tonight! woo! The design was inspired by the paint job I saw on the side of a building in southern California, I just thought that it had a really retro vibe to it, which, of course, I love. I also got to use a new polish I picked up from Milani- they have a new collection of nudes out now!! :)
I used Milani Teddy Bare (which is pretty close to Essie Mink Muffs) as a base, with American Apparel Cotton for the ivory line, and Zoya Jancyn for the orange line.
Sorry for the lack of complexity today, I feel kinda guilty when I don't do crazy stuff. :-P
Eyeko Vampira is my kind of color!Beautiful black base with red micro glitter.This is 2 coats of Vampira in natural light.Pardon my tipwear I had already worn this for 2 days when I realized I hadn't taken pictures yet. For Gothic nails! I love those little tittles on Eyeko bottles.Application was awesome, smooth and even.I might need a backup of this!
A couple of Sundays ago, placed an order on BF Beauty for some stamping plates. They finally arrived yesterday (it took 8 working days from Hong Kong to Australia - that's not bad, I don't think ^^) and I could hardly contain my glee. I think I even squealed aloud a few times...
I was too lazy to take each individual plate out of the packet for the photo, hehe.
I was so excited I decided to try out some stamping straight away. Stripped my nails of my matte manicure and painted on China Glaze's Light as Air. Then I used an Australian polish for stamping; BYS' French White.
It's my first time stamping, so it's not a fabulous job; actually, my right hand was rather fail so I didn't use it for photos this time. My favourite nail would have to my left middle finger even though part of the butterfly wasn't stamped on properly. You can only imagine what a disaster my right hand is from this photo, lol.

As the saying goes, practice makes perfect, so all I have to do is spend more time on stamping. Oh, and get some polishes which are more appropriate for stamping too - you can see that the white polish didn't come out that well.
Lately, Paramount decided to re-release the movie GREASE in select theaters, but this time with a little twist- it's a SING-A-LONG! They added graphics throughout the movie when there were songs to be sung, and how they handled some of the lyrics was pretty damn amusing. The graphics were amusing, but some were distracting and too much. All in all it was a fun experience. In honor of the re-release, I did GREASE nails!! :-D

Anyways...let's get to the inspiration for this design! First thing that made me want to try this design was the red & yellow mylar flakes I received from designernailvideos contest. The ladies that inspired my abstract design were configure1973 for her suberb freehand and also madamluck for turning me on to the $ tree nail art stripers. the half moon tips were inspired by andreajk182, she also has an online nail supply store The Rock Star Nails so be sure to check her out!
Recently, I have subbed to a lovely lady hairtrends4u who has a channel focusing on hair, fashion and general life advice. She also has a website Hairtrends4u where she offers wigs, handbags, shoes, accessories & more!!! Be sure to visit =D Her outfits of the day got me inspired to do a design in the colors yellow & red and I wanted to make a design for her that would match some of her outfits since she is celebrated reachin 1,000 subbies =D . She also inspired the swarovski crystals because she calls her subbies Diamonds.
Another huge inspiration for this design was dollface22772s recent super hot Bonfire design! Soon as I saw it the mylar popped right in my head. God I really love her work and she is cool as ice =D She always inspires us all on youtube and I am still giddy at the fact that she made partner! One thing I was sad about was that I had to take off that falling hearts design a week early cs I wont have time to do my nails this weekend cs I gotta work & me & hubby got a date to the Bob Marly festival =D YAY Roots, rock, reggae mon LOL But anyway...she sells the cutest vintage style jewlry in her Etsy store Littlest Charm Factory. I have yet to come across a musical that I DIDN'T like, and CHICAGO is no exception. I LOVE this musical. I love the movie version, and though I've only experienced the soundtrack of the stage version, I adore that too! I love the glamour of it all, the sex, the crime, the Richard Gere?! :-P Anyway, today's nails were inspired by all that jazz...
The 'glow' is far more subtle in person, but the camera really seemed to pick it up.
I got my OPI Swiss nail polished today, and I used Yodel Me on My Cell, a blue shimmer. I also had to cut my nails off this week - I've got some computer stuff to set up, and some of the connections are dang near impossible to do with long nails, so I lopped them off. They'll be back!
Even with the short nails, I needed three coats of Yodel Me on My Cell for it to be completely opaque. Here it is finished with top coat.

My computer keeps warning me that a 'hard disk failure is imminent' so I may be out of action for a while. I have a new one on the way and once it's in, service will resume as normal!

I've always been a fan of all things retro in the art world, and the plates that today's nail art was inspired by are no exception! I love the atomic era art style, so when my friend Chris showed me his plates and suggested they'd make great nail art, I completely agreed. So, I palmed a plate, and headed to my nail art desk, and got to work!
So, since I've been feeling pretty under the weather for the last few days, I've become very acquainted with the TV remote. I seem to have caught some sort of bug. *bleck* Anyway. There are a few things I make myself get out of bed/get off the couch for- and this is one!! :) (Groceries is another) Anyway, today's nails were inspired by my buddy, the remote, the clicker, the changer, your children, whatever you call the little thing that allows you to channel surf. :-P
