You knew I'd keep playing with my new pretties this morning, didn't you? Well you were right! I decided I also needed to try the Lippmann Devil in a Blue Dress, which in the bottle appeared to be a dark blue creme. Unfortunately, on the nail it's more of the "Is it black? Is it blue?" family, which wasn't what I was hoping for.
So having a slightly disappointing mani, I looked at the clock and saw it was about 9:00. I was born at 9:33 in the morning, at every year at 9:30 my mom would call to wish me a happy birthday and would tell me the story of my birth and laugh about her hospital roommate (she was a big storyteller). Since she died this past June, it's my first birthday wihout her, and I decided to do something to divert my attention from the clock so I wouldn't feel as bad. So, I want to entertain myself, I have a boring mani, what am I to do? Konad the hell out of it, that's what! I even had my first-ever attempt at a two-colored stamp work out, and now I have a mani that's going to keep me laughing all day long. Here it is.
This has put me back into a Happy Birthday frame of mind! I love to be silly, and this is perfect. It distracted me from the lack of my mom's call, and certainly made a disappointing polish much, much more fun! If you'd like to get in on the birthday fun, be sure to enter for a chance to win the Color Club Glitter Vixen Collection in the post below. All the details are there at the end...
Love and nail polish to you, Dear Reader!
